Local Area
Our location really could not be any better with breathtaking scenery and many amazing walks available on our doorstep from high level hikes to lower level strolls. We also have the added advantage of only being a short drive to some award winning beaches.
For the less active we would recommend a driving tour where you can take in some of the spectacular mountain passes including Hardknott Pass - Englands's steepest road, Birker Fell, Wrynose Pass, Cold Fell and Corney Fell.
There are many good local attractions in the area including Muncaster Castle, gardens and World Owl Centre, the La'al Ratty steam railway, The Beacon at Whitehaven and Rosehill Theatre in Whitehaven which offers shows, theatre, films, comedy, talks and music productions.
When it comes to activities there is a very good outdoor activity provider based just a few hundred yards away from Low Wood Hall called West Lakes Adventure. They offer a wide range of Lake District activities including rock climbing, abseiling, canoeing, ghyll scrambling. They also provide a mountain bike hire service.
There are also some very good local golf courses at Seascale and Eskdale, plus a nine hole pay and play course at St. Bees.
